The United Benefice of Benington with Walkern

St. Peter's Benington with St. Mary's Walkern

St Peter’s Tower Appeal

St Peter’s Church, Benington, has permission to go ahead with the long awaited plans for a kitchen and toilet within the church. The plans are to install a wheelchair accessible toilet, together with baby changing facilities, in the west tower. There will also be a kitchen area with storage facilities to provide refreshments after various church events. By carrying out this work, it is hoped to make the church a much more ‘people - friendly’ place. It is also planned to carry out extensive interior redecoration at the same time, including the repair of several large cracks in the plaster. The work is scheduled (funds permitting) to commence in October 2005, avoiding weddings, with the first phase ready for Christmas.

To go ahead with the plans we need to raise £52,000. To date, we have raised around one quarter of this amount and we are looking for your help and contributions to raise the rest of the money. Any fundraising suggestions are welcome - one idea so far is to collect pound coins in Smartie tubes - tell us your ideas. Contributions or ideas can be sent or delivered to any of the following -
